Designed for a wider variety of purposes, hover drones have been used by law enforcement of all levels, search & rescue, military establishments, to security of buildings and parks with a great deal of success. Able to communicate with other drones and to people such as law enforcement, multiple units can cover and survey vast areas of space with a combination of radar, GPS, thermal-lenses, and echolocation with great ease and speed. Despite being agile, fast, and nimble these drones are not EMP-shieled and can easily be stopped with an EMP-based weapon.
Many do not wield projectile weapons due to excess weight. But some do and once they lock-on to a target in the area that they are programmed to protect, they attack until either the subject is eliminated or if it runs out of energy to continue onward.
These drone can be overridden and remotely controlled by a person at a control station or with the necessary gear to override the automated controls.
